Oakdene - Wilmslow.

This was a development situated in South Manchester, aligning with the goals of local authority partners to provide high-quality, affordable housing within the region.

The project resulted in a prominent landmark development in close proximity to Wilmslow's center. It featured attractive homes that were designed with cost-effective quality and innovation in mind, creating a community that fosters vibrant and positive lifestyles. Additionally, the development included amenities such as playing fields and cycling routes that connected to the broader local town network.

In collaboration with our longstanding partners at Kier Construction, we managed various aspects of this exciting project, which encompassed civil works, including enabling works, demolition packages, groundworks, substructures, utilities, slabs, and external components. M&O also handled the external brickwork, cavity insulation, and internal block-work for all 56 properties. Upon the completion of the properties, M&O finalised the infrastructure work and carried out the necessary road and sewer installations.`

Oswald Road Primary School

Oswald Road Primary School was an existing 2FE school which was identified as being suitable for development to 3FE. We were commissioned to review the existing building stock and establish a proposal to increase the capacity.

Beamont Collegiate Academy

Under the Government's Priority Schools Building Programme, the academy has been awarded funding to support the construction of a brand-new school, which will serve as a replacement for the current site situated off Long Lane, Warrington.

Project Management & Design Support

17 Story Residential Tower, Store St, Manchester

M&O played a pivotal role in project management, providing support to the developer in design and compiling feasibility studies for the planning submission of the proposed development.

We furnished the structural design team with guidelines for constructability, addressing various on-site challenges, including split levels, existing ground fill conditions, and access issues to the works. Our civil engineering expertise contributed to the designers adopting a cost-effective approach during the conceptual phases.

We maintained close collaboration with the developer from the early stages, with a particular focus on piling, substructure installation, and contracting practices to proactively mitigate the risk of cost overruns. This collaboration facilitated planning approval for activities necessitating specialised trade disciplines.
